meet heather
Hi there! I’m Heather.
Known more commonly as Luce to family and friends, I’m a macro expert, passionate teammate, and lover of all food.
ROOTS
As an Army brat, I’ve lived a little all over the place, but Kentucky is where I call home. I was raised by a 1SG in the U.S. Army who doubled as a single mom and real-life superhero. When you grow up with a mom as badass as Momma Luce, it certainly shapes you as a person and helps you find purpose in your life. Athleticism and adventure are paramount in our family. I think this is where I developed my love for sports, wellbeing, and camaraderie.
At the University of Louisville, I changed my major four times before finding my true calling in Sport Administration. I worked as an adidas Ambassador and an adidas intern in the UofL athletic department. It was there I discovered an opportunity to work in NBA Team Services at adidas. After graduating from UofL, adidas took me to Indianapolis for a few years where I learned, traveled, and worked my freakin’ ass off. I am blessed to still work for adidas and now live in Portland, OR with my husband Sean and our two fur babies, Kimba (German Shepherd) and Nugget (our sassy calico).
GROWTH
It was during my time in Indianapolis I realized I needed to get my shit together if I wanted to keep my athletic body I had worked so hard for over the years. I wasn’t on a team with mandatory practice anymore, there sure as hell wasn’t anyone making meals for me, and I no longer had an active community pushing me. Then I found something called “tracking macros” and the game changed.
GLOW UP
Enjoying the hell out of your food and transforming your body are not mutually exclusive. THAT is why I became a certified macro nutrition coach. Have you ever felt guilty after eating or drinking certain foods? Ever felt deprived trying a new diet requiring you to remove (insert food group here) from your life? Even felt angry with yourself after spending hundreds of dollars on supplements that did nothing? I have! Numerous times, in fact. Responsible nutrition coaching is rooted in science and education. Therefore, my clients learn what food CAN do for their bodies. They build habits they can sustain for the rest of their lives. They unapologetically make their own decisions around food because they are empowered by information. Sounds great doesn’t it? Well LFG then.
You bring the hustle; I’ll bring the hype.

Heather’s JOURNEY
A few years ago, I found myself at my heaviest weight ever. I remember stepping on the scale and seeing a number I had never seen before. Woah, how did this happen?
Eating with zero mindfulness, lots of social drinking, and a surplus of calories. That is exactly how it happened. I viewed food as an exchange rather than sustenance. “I shouldn’t eat this because I didn’t work out today.” or “I worked out today so I can have one of the donuts that someone brought in.”
I was working out hard 4-5 times per week, but I had a harmful mindset around exercise. If I missed a couple days in the gym, I felt shame and disappointment instead of consciously taking meaningful rest days. That shame turned my few missed days into a week. This cycle would repeat itself frequently. Then came macros.
Tracking macros was exciting for me because I had specific goals to hit each day. (Total enneagram 3 statement, I get it.) But hitting my macro goals made me feel proud of myself. I was working toward my goals without deprivation or guilt. I stopped moralizing food (labeling as good or bad) and simply acknowledged their macro content instead. Tracking macros helped me build a positive and balanced mindset that I now have forever. The big bonus? I lost 20 lbs. No magic, just science.
My journey wasn’t flawless, but no one’s is. The key to your goals is to slowly build habits that you can maintain forever. This might sound a little intimidating, but I’ve got you.
